Managing Emergency
|
Specific training is needed to ensure that people from different parts of your organization can come together and function effectively during an emergency. Envision can tailor its approach in working with your organization, as follows:
General Training – EOC members
The first part of the session reviews the theory and processes involved with how your organization responds to an emergency. Specific attention is given to how to activate your EOC, the briefing process, the action plan development process, and how your EOC functions throughout a response. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions or comment on subject material.
The next part is focussed on the activation aspect of a response. Based on a scenario, participants are given questions pertaining to the activation of the EOC. After the questions are taken up, the EOC is fully set up, at a ‘walk-through’ pace, under the direction of the Emergency Director.
The final part of training involves practising a response. Based on the scenario previously given to them, the EOC lead will coordinate an initial brief and lead the other EOC members in the development of an action plan. Following this, each participant will be given inputs at various times to simulate events or issues presented to the EOC. As a group, the EOC works through the issues presented.

EOC Directors, Chiefs, Managers
Specific training is beneficial for leaders within your EOC. This session specifically focuses on leadership, delivering briefings, and creating action plans. Most importantly, the session helps leaders understand how to enable their teams to work effectively and to their full potential.
EOC Individual Sections
It’s not enough to collectively review common EOC material. Individual sections within your EOC need to understand how their function fits within the overall system. This session focuses on material relating to the section as a whole and to each individual position within that section.
EOC Administrative Staff
Document everything; we know that it has to be done. But do you know what exactly to document and how to do it? We’ll work with your leads and people responsible for documentation to review best practices in conjunction with your organization’s existing system. Specific attention is given to forms and information management.
